i started the halloween season off by going to one of the parties hosted
by my mom's friends. i've started calling them "the real housewives of
west point." without the drama, of course. they are the cutest - they have
regular parties at each others' homes where they do super fun things like
teach each other how to make spectacular caramel apples. like these.
i definitely chose the right party to attend. thankfully, they let me in
their inner circle for the night.
we kept with tradition and enjoyed our annual pumpkin pizza.
and we even hosted our very own halloween party. i wouldn't
say it was a complete bust, but it wasn't quite what we'd let our
imaginations dream it would be, either. the highlight for me was
definitely karaoke. that's right, i said karaoke. richard let me
buy our very own karaoke machine just for this night. it was a hit
with most, but i'd say spencer liked it the best.
sarah and jenkins got down to some eminem, and most of the
girls collaborated to perform a pretty fabulous rendition of
lady marmalade.
i love my sisters so much for coming to party with a bunch
of old married folks. they are the best cat and mouse i know.
the stevensons had a great costume. i think she had her
baby the very next week.
sara and spencer kept things super classy.
calixta and nate were a riot. they won the contest
for best food. homemade sugar cookies...delish.
shannon and mark won best costume. seriously
a home run - i mean, who can beat whitney and her
body guard? no one.
when jenkins and her date showed up, we all thought her sign
said "oil," but we were mistaken. it was her price guess for the
price is right. she was a contestant. obviously.
riard and i were just a couple of boobs.
boobs with great taste in bras, don't you think?
and maybe a little lopsided, but since when does
that matter?
i love halloween, and i love richard for being such a
good sport. he let me go all out in decorating for tha party,
which i wish i'd have gotten pictures of. i had ice hands in
the punch, witch legs coming out from "under" our house on
the porch, spiders hanging from the fan, and lots of other little
trinkets around the house. i'm not gonna lie, preparing for the
party was actually a lot more fun than the actual event.
there's no one i'd rather be a boob with.
